New Comic Re: Nazis and Both-Sidesism in 2017
It’s been a while since I made a comic, but I found a new site to make them on and this has been kicking around my head. So many things don’t make sense these days, but this logic I just can’t abide. I hate to think of how our children’s children will see us when they look back.
Anyway, here it is:
MMAS the Comic – Teaching 2017: Charlottesville
See it on Facebook and Twitter.
Description:
Frame 1: Classroom, teacher at the board pointing to text with chalk. Board reads “Neo-Nazi Violence in 2017; Charlottesville VA; August 12, 2017; Heather Heyer murdered; Deandre Harris beaten; 19 injured in car attack. Teacher speech: “…and anti-fascists counter-protested the Neo-Nazis, which—”
Frame 2: Classroom, kids at desks. Girl on far left w/brown skin & curly black hair raises her hand and says, “Um…Ms. Bradley? It says here some people thought the anti-fascists were “just as bad” as the fascists.” Other students look on in various degrees of surprise and disgust.
Frame 3: Teacher looking unhappy at board. “Yep. That’s what we call a false equivalence.”
Frame 4: Classroom, kids at desks. Girl who asked the question says, “I call it bullsh*t.” Other students look toward teacher (camera) in disbelief.]
As always, feedback is welcome.

It might be a topic for discussion (albeit short). Unbelievable. Well done.
